Customer Review: Not a viable media server
First: Read the Mvix Forums Community on the web before you buy!!!! If you want this for watching movies from a hard drive, look over the Mvix forums community on the web, and see what people say. Some seem OK with it. I wanted this as a media server for Mp3's and photos, with the ability to expand more to video in the future. This thing is totally inadequate for such functions. There is no viable Mp3 playlist creation (unless you are happy with having only one playlist). And it will not show album art. The GUI is archaic. IMHO anything calling itself a "Media Server" should allow simple playlist creation and these days should probably show album art. Other than that...it arrived DOA, was returned, and sent back damaged. When I finally got it working after frequent need to perform a factory reset, I learned how crappy it was for Mp3 buy cheap nintendo wii games and decided to bail. My bad for not investigating the return policy which is a 25% RESTOCKING FEE...that's HUGE!!! Just read the Mvix forums prior to buying and then you can make an informed decision. There are a LOT of unhappy people who have stuck with this thing hoping for a major firmware upgrade from Mvix, and they are getting mad.
Customer Review: Fan Noise is very disturbing
This is an Excelent Machine with High Def capabilities, but the built in FAN noise is making me go mad.
